George L. Groh, AIA

Mr. George L. Groh, AIA, is a Managing Principal at Kutchins & Groh.  He brings extensive experience in planning, design, project management and construction management to the firm, with over ten years of that in airport management.

Mr. Groh leads the firms Program Management and Independent Fee Estimating Practices.  The firm’s Program Management efforts include management and coordination of all facets of our clients’ capital development programs.  In the preparation of Independent Fee Analyses (IFA), Mr. Groh has achieved unparalleled success in assisting our clients with negotiation of scope and fee requirements for airfield and terminal development. 

Mr. Groh’s client base includes Richmond International Airport, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and Acadiana Regional Airport, as well as several other small primary and general aviation facilities across Louisiana.

Prior to forming Kutchins & Groh in 2003, Mr. Groh worked with the Mumphrey Group from 1998 to 2003 and led the firm’s efforts for the Richmond International Airport’s planning contract.  For the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, he managed the implementation of the Transportation Security Administration’s security screening mandates. This involved the installation of all the new security equipment at the checkpoints, baggage-screening equipment, managing the TSA construction and the relocation of six major airlines.

Before working with the Mumphrey Group, Mr. Groh served as Deputy Director of Planning and Development for the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.  He was directly responsible for the implementation of the airport’s $850 million Capital Facilities Program.  Mr. Groh also managed the Airport’s Planning, Noise Compatibility and Land Acquisition Programs and oversaw all aspects of the Airport's development programs from initial concept development through implementation.   

Mr. Groh began his career and spent six years as an architect working on the design and implementation of numerous municipal, commercial and industrial projects in the State of Louisiana. These projects included schools, office buildings, hotels, apartment complexes and various warehouse facilities.

Mr. Groh received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette in 1981 and he is a Registered Architect in the State of Louisiana.  Mr. Groh is a member of the following organizations:

  • American Association of Airport Executives;
  • American Institute of Architects;
  • Southeast Airport Managers Association; and
  • Louisiana Airport Managers Association.
